New Victoria Theatre Woking
Outside of London, New Victoria Theatre in Woking is one of the largest theatres in the country. Not only is the theatre teeming with some of the best shows, it is a complex that also includes the Rhoda McGaw Theatre.
The History of the Theatre
Owned by Ambassador Theatre Group, the New Victoria Theatre was first opened in 1992. The theatre quickly rose to fame with some of the best shows in the country being premiered at the theatre. Now, the theatre is one of the most respected in all of South East England.

The theatre not only has the latest in acoustics and technology, it was made to be ultra-spacious. This allows patrons to have the utmost in comfort during the show and never feel cramped.
The Current State
The theatre has been active since 1992 without any interruptions. The theatre is divided into two actual entities. The main theatre is what people mostly visit. This theatre seats 1,300 people and is meant for bigger, more popular productions.
The Seating
Seating is broken down into the typical three tier setup. These tiers are as follows:
- Stalls (the best seats)
- Royal Circle
- Upper Circle
Seating is available for the disabled on both the first and second tier. There is also the possibility of the first three rows found within the Stalls section to be completely removed if the orchestra needs more space to perform.
Handicap Accessibility
There are a plethora of accessibility options available for the disabled. The current amenities seen are:
- A Lift for the stalls and royal circle section.
- Nine wheelchair spaces available in the royal circle.
- One wheelchair space in the stalls section.
- Induction loop necklace for better audio. Simply change the necklace’s volume and it will sync with hearing aids set to the “T” setting.
- Headsets are available. These are meant for viewers that have slight hearing issues.
- Guide dogs are welcome to the show.
- There are toilets on all levels of the theatre that can accommodate disabled users.

Late Policy

Rhoda McGaw Theatre
New Victoria Theatre Woking is also in the complex of the Rhoda McGaw Theatre and a six screen cinema. Rhoda McGaw has seating for small shows with maximum capacities being just 230 people. The cinema complex has room for 80 – 400 seats.

There are numerous modes of transportation that will allow you to arrive at the theatre with ease. These transportation methods include:
Cars
Follow signs for Woking. The theatre is in the centre of town and can be reached from M25, M3 and the A3. There is Peacocks Centre where all guests will be able to park and walk to the theatre.
Train
Public transportation is a great way to reach the theatre. Guests can take the train from all surrounding areas right to the Woking BR. From here, it is just a brisk walk to the theatre.
The theatre features shows ranging from To Kill a Mockingbird to The Johnny Cash Roadshow. Shows play virtually every night with comedy, plays, musicals and concerts taking place within the theatre. The average capacity rating is 80 percent, and guests will want to book their tickets as early as possible to ensure that they get a good seat.
Disabled guests will want to call the venue prior to booking to ensure that they have the space needed for a wheelchair. Since there is a limited number of handicap seats, it is always best to try and book early.
